Bookbinding Basics: Accordion and Concertina Bindings

Saturday, August 26, 12:30-4:30 at Little Mountain Bindery

This workshop will cover all of the basics of using traditional binding materials including adhesive, bookboard, bookcloth, and papers through the exploration of small, hardcover accordions and variations including the concertina binding. Other important topics covered include grain direction, adhesive types and uses, and corner mitering. This class is an important building block for the beginner as well as just plain fun! The accordion has limitless uses for artists and writers of all kinds and in this class we will explore variations on this structure. Each student will leave with multiple small books!

As always, there will be cookies and punch!

Please Note: Refunds cannot be given after July 30 as we will need time to fill the vacancy.
